My family has been a part of the farming community in Cass County for generations.  We live on a small farm and enjoy working with our cattle.  I have been happily married for nearly 20 years and have a 9 year old son. Our family has ties to the Cass County Community and has been living in this county for generations.  These strong ties give me a vested interest in ensuring the community in which we live remains somewhere where people feel safe and want to raise their children.

I have 13 years of legal experience and have been a licensed attorney since 2012.

​

I have a heart for public service.  My entire legal career has been spent proudly serving the community. 

​

I have experience in both criminal and civil law. 

​

I have been fighting for children and families in Cass County since 2018 as an Attorney for the Juvenile Officer.  I handle abuse and neglect cases for Cass County and I ensure that children are protected and families receive valuable services to build healthy bonds.  I have been serving the citizens of Cass County for seven years in this role and I have lived by the slogan of our office, “Building strong families and capable children while ensuring justice in our community and community in our justice”.

Through my role as the Attorney for the Juvenile Officer, I am part of the Cass County Abuse Response Team.  This team is a collaborative team among many different agencies, including, but not limited to, law enforcement, Child Protection Center, medical professionals, and the Children’s Division, that meet to discuss child abuse or neglect cases of concern that are being investigated.  We collaborate to ensure each agency has what is needed to ensure safety of children.

I am a board member of the Cass County Youth Court program.  This program allows youth volunteers the ability to handle real cases of juveniles that commit first time, low level, criminal offenses.  Youth Volunteers serve in the role of prosecutor, defense attorney, judge, clerk and bailiff.  This allows for youth to be judged by their peers in hopes that it has a more meaningful impact.

Before serving as Attorney for the Juvenile Officer, I started my career as a prosecutor handling misdemeanor and felony offenses.  As a prosecutor I gained valuable experience conducting bench and jury trials.  I learned a lot about how important it is to uphold the Constitution and follow the law as written.

I am a member of the Association of Women Lawyers. 

​

My family attends Adrian Christian Church where I enjoy helping with the children’s activities, such as vacation bible school, egg hunt and other fun events. 

 

In our spare time we enjoy tractor pulling and spending time with family outdoors. 

​

My legal experience and strong conservative values have given me the skills necessary to competently serve the citizens of Cass County as Associate Circuit Judge. 

​

I promise I will uphold the Constitution and follow the law as written.  I will not legislate from the bench.
